Camp Supervisor

Rate: $17 - $18.50 / hr

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize camp programs and activities for campers from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 10
  • Supervise camp staff with ongoing direction, support, and guidance
  • Supervise daily drop-off and pick-up, ensuring camper safety
  • Communicate effectively with camp staff, parents, and director
  • Organize weekly camp-wide games and activities (Camp Summer Blast Amazing Race)
  • Mentor camp counselors and provide constant support
  • Ensure summer camp inventory and supplies are kept stocked in consultation with camp director
  • Provide feedback to camp director in regard to hiring, termination and performance of staff

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Halton Region Police Reference Check (vulnerable sector check)
  • Minimum 2 years previous camp counselor experience
  • First Aid Certification
  • Infant/Child CPR/AED certification
  • Exceptional communication abilities
  • Access to own vehicle and Class G license

 

 

Camp Counselor

Rate: $17 / hr

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing exception care for up to 10 campers
  • Lead campers in fun, engaging activities, sports, arts/crafts throughout each day as outlined by camp supervisors
  • Ensure program upholds the principle of HIGH FIVE® Healthy Child Development
  • Provide an inclusive camp environment that supports the varying needs of all children
  • Ensure campers are supervised and cared for at all times
  • Conduct regular safety checks to ensure facility and equipment are in good order and to report directly to camp supervisors if anything is encountered tat may affect the safety of campers
  • Communicate with parents when necessary regarding issues that may arise at camp

Position Requirements

  • First Aid Certification
  • Infant/Child CPR/AED certification
  • Valid HIGH FIVE ® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification (by June 1, 2024)
  • Minimum grade 10 and working towards a Secondary School Diploma
  • Previous camp experience (or working with children) is an asset
  • Halton Region Police Reference Check (vulnerable sector check) if 18+
  • Transportation to and from Milton Fairgrounds
